Now Enrolling: Discover Parsons spring courses and Summer Intensives credit courses.
About This Program
This program will be offered in Summer 2027. Additional details will be forthcoming. Students interested in on-campus summer intensives in fashion, art, and design can explore Parsons New York Summer Intensive Studies (Ages 16-18).
The School of Drama Summer Intensive Studies: Acting & Devised Theater program builds upon the basic principles of acting to inspire a journey of exploration and performance using devised theater techniques. Morning sessions expand students’ acting, voice and speech, and movement skills; afternoon sessions guide students from the beginnings of the creative process—before the first idea—through performance.
Rooted in collective engagement and radical collaboration, the program helps students develop original performance narratives and refine their analytical skills, enabling them to shape and present a final work. This program is an excellent opportunity for students who want to expand their theater training while breathing life into transformative, original narrative pieces of theater.
The Acting and Devised Theater Intensive is open to students ages 16 to 18 who complete the application and demonstrate interest and proficiency in theatrical performance. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Early application is encouraged, as space is limited.
Admission to the program is selective. After acceptance, students secure seats on a first-come, first-served basis.
