Course Description

Piano Lab is an exciting introduction to piano playing in a supportive and fun group environment. Students will learn the fundamentals of piano technique and how to play melodies of various musical styles. The class will give students experience in playing music by ear as well as familiarity with the basics of music notation. Students will also explore the creative possibilities of the skills they have learned, including improvisation, arranging familiar melodies, and composition. (Students in grades 3–5 who would like to take a morning class can register for Cartooning, Foundation Studio, or Toy Design.)
