Course Description

Discover, expand, and deepen your musical horizons with this exploration of diverse musical styles from around the globe. Using an ethnomusicological perspective, you’ll examine and experience a wide range of musical traditions, systems, and cultural practice, working closely with master musicians. Featuring hands-on workshops and introductions to compositional elements from various styles, this course weaves together student learning and performance. With a particular focus on percussion and vocal performance, students will learn introductory performance skills and theory across an exciting array of disciplines. Students must be 16 by July 5, 2020 to participate.
