Course Description

“To consult the rules of composition before making a picture is a little like consulting the law of gravitation before going for a walk.” - Edward Weston.

Training the eye to see and understand the principles of composition naturally takes time but through exploring historical images, making lots of photographs and learning about what makes up compositions, you will find seeing these elements become more natural overtime. Students learn about composition and natural lighting techniques through studio projects and the exploration of photo history.
