Course Description
Academic Reading General Section. This is a required core component of the ESL+ certificate programs (ESL+D, ESL+M, ESL+U). Students read a variety of longer and shorter texts, which they are expected to discuss and write about in detail in class, in homework assignments, and on quizzes. In-class activities and homework assignments help students increase their reading speed, comprehension, confidence, and enjoyment. Four levels offered, from low-intermediate to advanced. Permission required and registration only through the Center for English Language Studies. Students must take an English placement test to determine their appropriate course level.
