About This Program

How can fashion be both beautiful and sustainable? In this flexible online course, Sustainability: The Future of Fashion, high school students discover the innovative ways in which the fashion industry is responding to climate change and ecological crisis. You will learn about the life cycles of products, eco-friendly approaches to design, the upsides and downsides of "green" branding, and more. Whether your interest is in design, marketing, or another field, develop your own vision of a sustainable future for fashion.

Eligibility: For students entering 9th grade through graduating seniors (grades 9-12, ages 13+)

Program Dates: Multiple two- and four-week periods

How You’ll Learn

  • 20 to 30 hours of totally asynchronous instruction and course work, including engaging multimedia, simulations, and assignments on which you will receive guidance and support through video lectures, allowing you to tune in anytime that works for you
  • In-depth video lectures delivered by Parsons Paris professors
  • Regular online live group sessions with a Parsons mentor who will provide personalized direction on assignments and help with ideation for the final project
  • Creation of the final project, in which you apply the skills you have acquired and present your vision through an illustrated essay, manifesto, business model, imagery, or in another multimedia format
