Course Description

In Intro to Web and Mobile: HTML & CSS you were introduced to HTML & CSS; in this course you will be introduced to JavaScript, the third fundamental core technology used to make a website. With JavaScript you can add interactivity and effects to your websites, resulting in a stronger more dynamic and user-friendly experience. Lively interactions such as animations and scroll effects, slide carousels, lightboxes, dynamically loading photos, pop-up modal windows, are all behaviors that can be powered by JavaScript. nnCompared to HTML and CSS, which are closer to markup languages, JavaScript is a programming language, where you will learn basic computer programming concepts, like; Variables, Data Types, Loops, and Arrays, before moving onto a basic overview of more complex concepts; Functions, DOM Traversal and Events. nnWe will focus on code that might be commonly expected of web designers, code that builds visually strong portfolio pieces. While this course won't make you an expert in these subjects, it will as a whole give you a solid foundation to understand how JavaScript functions, how to navigate and read written code and have the understanding to build your knowledge from there.
