The course surveys the general aspects of narrative & storytelling, as well as production, stylistics, language use, and its target markets while focusing on media's role in ethnic identity, social engagement, community reaffirmation, and related cultural economies. The course is conducted in English, with readings and media content that may be in English and/or Spanish, with supporting subtitles or audio translation.
