Course Description
This course introduces students to the MLE major and the fields of management, leadership and entrepreneurship and how careers in these fields can be vehicles for advancing UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Grounded in examples and case studies in the UN SDGs space, the course will provide an overview of management functions such as planning, organizing, motivating, and monitoring projects, people, and processes. It will distinguish leadership from management and provide an insight into leadership models and methodologies while supporting the student in developing a reflexive understanding of their own preferred leadership styles, philosophies, and goals. The course will introduce the role of entrepreneurship - social, technological, and traditional - in solving for intractable social and environmental problems, joys and challenges of entrepreneurship, and identify success factors.Loading...
