Documentary Media Studies Certificate (Graduate)

About This Certificate

Study filmmaking in the world’s documentary capital. This one-year, full-time intensive graduate program prepares you for employment in documentary media professions and culminates in a student documentary festival.

The Documentary Media Studies program at The New School provides an opportunity to study documentary filmmaking—production and theory—in a small, tightly focused program in New York City. The program culminates in a student documentary festival, Truth Be Told, at the end of each school year, at which certificate students' films are publicly screened and discussed by the filmmakers and faculty. (Festival details will be determined during the semester.)
