At Parsons, we have a longstanding tradition of being at the forefront of interior design education, offering the first program of its kind in the U.S. As a new option this fall, our flexible certificate in Interior Design is offered entirely online. So what does that mean for you?
Certificate Requirements
All students will gain a firm grasp of interior space planning, drafting, color theory, and more. You’ll also have the opportunity to further tailor your experience with two online electives of your choice.
Industry Landscape
As an interior design professional, you could be making an average salary of more than $50,000/yr in top hiring cities around the country, including New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Offering multiple tracks that enable you to choose your path in the industry, this certificate is a great place to get started if you’re interested in becoming a Design Consultant, Commercial and Industrial Designer, Art Director, Furniture/Design Store Manager, or Antiques Dealer.
Always evolving, the industry no longer just means “designing interiors.” Someone with keen interior design skills could also collaborate on projects ranging from film sets and high-end weddings to even insta-worthy experiential spaces like Refinery29’s 29Rooms or the Museum of Ice Cream.
