EMSI Interior Design 2022

As working from home becomes more of the norm, many have turned to interior design to improve the residential spaces around them. Interior designers combine technical knowledge of scale and proportion with such concepts as client psychology to make lasting decisions about residential and commercial properties. As the industry has grown, specialized fields such as sustainable building and lighting design have gained more interest. Today's interior designers are expected to keep up with the latest tools and software, from SketchUp to AutoCAD and Rhino. Whether you're a creative professional exploring interior design or an architect adding to a robust portfolio, there are several opportunities and tracks to explore.

Interior Design Opportunities

According to the job market resource EMSI, the U.S. is averaging 1,722 postings a month for interior designers from August 2021 to August 2022. EMSI predicts that the industry will experience upward growth until 2030. As seen below, California has seen the most unique job postings for Interior Designers in the last year.
